Island Of Misfit Dolls...

I don't know how Graham Linehan gets hold of some of the things he posts, but we owe him a HUGE thank you for this one...
Watch, enjoy, and remember... I'm not as crazy as you once thought!

Moving swiftly along...
QVC has put up their Christmas In July schedule, and it's a two-day event this year! Our DVR will be on FIRE, let me tell you...
Yes, my mother and I are pathetic... we like to watch the holiday specials on home shopping networks. Well, where else can you get classic moments like this?

Ringo Gets A Warmer Reception...

When my sister sent me this link over the IM just a minute ago, my Blog Senses were tingling... it's the Custom Neil Diamond Quilt!
Why don't they have one for Bobby Sherman?
Now, Neil Diamond has given me the collywobbles since I was a wee one... hate is a strong word, but I've really never liked this guy. My aversion to him has gotten so unbearable in the last few years that I have to shut off our radio station when he comes on (iTunes has spoiled me)... but I knew a blog would not be complete without a video, and boy, did I find a gem...
Neil Diamond fans aren't as loyal as he'd like to think...

Those yutzes were the best a camera crew could find? As the title of this post suggest, even Ringo gets a warmer reception!
And to think what fans did for Paul's 65th birthday...

Blair Would Be Jealous...

As I sit here, the melodies of The Guess Who ringing through my office, I'm wondering how best to breach the subject of feet. Yes, you read right, feet.
When I was a wee spriglett (about four), my mother was watching one of those surgery shows on telly... it was about a little girl who was born without thumbs, and they took off two of her toes to replace them. I watched in horror, and ever since then, I've had issues with feet. Not all feet, normal feet are OK... but there is a fine line, and this TMZ contest walks it in every respect.
I was hoping to add this video to the blog, but the moron has embedding disabled...
This video from the new season of The Bachelorette (or, as we call it around here, Chris Harrison's show) will just have to do...

I'll bet that TMZ link would be like porn for that guy...

This Blog Is Rated 12A...

The sixth Harry Potter film was recently rated 12A by the BBFC (British Board of Film Classification... pretty snazzy, innit?). They released a statement today explaining the rating, which included this priceless gem...
Quote...

The film contains mild language including the words 'God', 'bloody', tosser', 'sod', 'hell' and 'git'.

Well, good God, why in hell didn't the bloody tossers give the sodding thing a 15 rating instead... the gits.
(You had to have seen that one coming from a mile off...)
I shudder to think what they'd say if they saw this...

(I always know I can rely on Barry and Fulcher when I need something absolutely random...)

Oh, what would the BBFC have to say about this one?

Ringo's Walk Of Fame Starr...

Announced just this fair morn, Ringo Starr will be getting a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.
Let's break this down.
John has a star, right in front of the Capitol building.
George received his posthumous star earlier this year.
The Beatles have a star near Grauman's Chinese Theatre.
Ringo gets his star in 2010...
WHERE'S THE PAUL LOVE?
Don't make me go into the wonderful things that adorable man has done in his 67 years... I could tick them off for the better part of the afternoon.
Not only that, but fans have been trying to get Paul a star for eons, yet Ringo gets one BEFORE Our Paulie? Preposterous.
That being said, I had to go look up the Walk of Fame Nomination process, just to make sure I wasn't missing some important nugget of information...
Quote...

All Nominations must include the following documents with the application:

Photo of the nominee
Brief bio of nominee - no more than 5 pages
Nominee’s qualifications
List of contributions to the community and civic-oriented participation
Letter of agreement from the nominee or his/her management

Well, I'd say four of five.
I shall certainly be pondering this conundrum for a while.

In related news (I don't think I've ever used that segway before... add an award!), that lovable genius in question has a birthday today! How often is it we can wish a God of Rock 'N' Roll a happy birthday? (Not too bloody often!)
We expect at least 30 more, OK, Paul?

Post Script...
Happy birthday indeed, Sir! He's playing DC in August?!
Admit it, darlin', you know it's past due for another US Tour, don't you?
Well, for the sake of the lucky bastards in attendance of his "one-off" gigs...

Cheech And Brandon Walsh Hang Small Children...

Just a minute ago, during a Golden Girls commercial break, this advertisement was played...

My question... where's Chong? And, more to the point, what are they doing to those children?

DO NOT SCARE TYRONE!

You wanna know why?

One word for ya...

Goths, Their Hyperboles, And A Blog...

Oh, the plight of the goth... terribly misunderstood, scoffed at by society, and treated like yesterday's jam. For instance, we all remember what happened to Richmond Avenal...

Without further ado, I present to you (via Graham Linehan) the Goths In Hot Weather Blog! (I particularly enjoyed the "Where's Gothy?" post.)

And now, a final word from Richmond...

Dr. Horrible... Just That, Perhaps?

My sister is adorable. She told me today that I should watch Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. Even Cole chipped in, saying it was the best thing he's seen in ages. I was curious, so I knew I had to give it a try.
Going into this, I knew it was a bad idea... I've had terrible experiences with musicals (they literally make the hairs on my head stand up), and my opinion of funtime is quite different from that of my sister (we're similar, but really, we aren't).
The trailer, if you will...

I realize I'm just not cut out for American humor.
I need something distinctly British to linger on the palette...

Seven Boosh DVDs? I'm THERE!

You may remember my post about The Mighty Boosh series 1 hitting shelves on July 21st (or you may not, the rest of you have lives), but could something even BETTER be coming in the autumn?
There seems to some hubbub surrounding the release of the Mighty Boosh Special Edition set, containing all three series (and extras discs included in their original release in the UK) AND a disc of brand spanky new goodies for anybody insane enough to watch. Of course, there are other things in the box (no satsumas, sorry), but the extra DVD is going to be worth the wait!
Here's to hoping it actually DOES come out October 13th!

BOOSH TIME!

Is this the time to admit I've got that song on my iPod?

The Frogs Have Taken Google!

Well, I didn't type Google into Google, but it's sorta broken!
I type in www.google.com into my address bar, as usual, and it automatically takes me directly to www.google.fr!

If it was April Fool's, I'd find the joke... but this is just plain odd!

Even the Blogger spell checker is foreign! WHAT IS GOING ON?

A Photoshop Conundrum...

Exhibit A : The photo in this eBay listing has not been altered. Take a nice look at it... December 1980, some of the last professional pictures of John Lennon.

Exhibit B : This photo differs slightly from Exhibit A. You'll notice, of course, the first photo was taken at a slightly different angle... straight on, maybe a little higher, and you could barely see the telephone cord in the first example. Oh, and his head wasn't from 1968.
I wonder which one was toyed with... I guess we'll never know.

RANDOM CLIP TIME!

Status : SENT HOME...

Well, ladies and germs, it's Bachelorette season once again (or, as I prefer to call it, Chris Harrison season), and another gem to blog about cropped up in the latest episode. The Bachelorette, the putz, sent home one of my favorite fellers (who was continually screwed from the word go), Brad (sounds like a soap opera!), and in his final interview, made such a sad statement, I told my mother instantly "I have to find that clip for my blog". He did the usual 'why did she keep those bastards, she could have had a good life," blah blah jazz, and then he turns melancholy, hanging his head down and mumbling "nobody will ever relate to me, I think I'll become a drifter", or something to that effect.
Well, I couldn't find that clip. I did, however, find the stuff that was edited out of that final interview, which was much funnier, and shows you the power of editing... enjoy! (You may have to set through an advert, sorry about that.)

In unrelated news, I woke up singing this song... maybe you'll enjoy it, too!
(Pay special attention to how horrible a lip syncher ol' Herb is...)

They never play that song on the radio, I wonder why... it was a #1 in '68. Go figure.
